Lazy Sunday Afternoon...

It was our last summer garden fete in Arundel yesterday
so we were very grateful that Hurricane Bertha waited until we had finished.

I can't believe this all fitted into our car.
I am now enjoying a lazy Sunday afternoon
and making...

and

but none of this.

I might do a bit of this...

and I need to finish this...

but if I crochet round the neck how do I remove the bottle?
(inspired by FOXES LANE)

but  no chance of any of this...

There's no one to hear me, there's nothing to say
And no one can stop me from feeling this way...

Lazy Sunday Afternoon,
I've got no mind to worry
Close my eyes and drift away.

(I wish I could sing)

Overstretched

We stretched our legs
Down by the sea
Now they won't fit
On the settee.

And so we danced
In summer rain
Now they have shrunk
And fit again.

Eighty Degrees...

Mr Fahrenheit!

A lazy day, a restless night
Makes sewing slow and crafting light...

so not much to show this month, hindered by holidays and heat...
but I'm not complaining.

I painted some little Ikea chairs...

the seaside border fitted so well, thank you Laura Ashley.

I had a little holiday in Dorset...

This is Beer in Devon

I chopped up a tank top,

made some fair isle flowers and...

some 'wools' ice cream ...

and I stuffed a swan!

My pin board is full and ready for our next craft fair

so I'm off for a paddle and
I'll leave you with my favourite holiday snap...

I wonder how he keeps cool?

Felt lucky

I returned from my holiday to discover
that I had won the most gorgeous giveaway...

Lucy's corsages are beautifully made from thick woolly felt
and presented on a sweet vintage card.

Thank you so much, Lucy... it's blooming lovely!

You wear it well...

a little old fashioned but I don't mind.

At last, I've found a model,
She's 'armless, tall and leggy.
She loves to pose
On tippie toes,
I think I'll call her Peggy.

We found her broken beneath some dummies at our local boot fair.
It was lucky that a curtain rod finial fitted her neck.

That's probably why she loves Rod Stewart...
perhaps I should have called her Maggie May?

We are heading west for some playtime
and leaving Peggy in charge, suitably dressed
to encourage some housework while we're away.

So when the sun goes low and you're home alone
think of me and try out the hoover!

I'm looking forward to making her some
new pinnies when we get back... they look better on her.

Bag hair day.

She said she would model for me

but she was a bit shy....
so I had to make do with a cardboard cut out
for my new range of hair bands.

I found some unusual old fabric at our local charity shop

with picture panels,

I can't work out what's going on but I think they all
lived happily ever after as a shoulder bag.

She said she would model it for me ...

I don't think she trusts me to take flattering photographs.

I don't know why.

We will be modelling our summer collection tomorrow
at The Assembly Rooms, Chichester.

Sorry no photos allowed!
