The Heaving Pile

We must downsize the family home

And clear the clutter that we own.

It's time to find a cosy pad,

Where we can be just Mum and Dad.

And so today, I made a start,

I tried to make some pretty 'art'.

I chopped a linen cloth in two

And made a mess with residue.

My hoarding ways have got to stop

Before the Mister blows his top.

I must reduce this heaving pile,

I may be gone for quite a while.

Don't go breaking my heart

I have been making love tokens like a woman possessed

and now our Valentine's market is cancelled!

I wouldn't mind but I don't even like Valentine's day

so I'm going to stop stuffing hearts (they are addictive)

and hope that all this love will keep warm for Mother's day.

I Made a Poem

I like making stuff,

And messing with glue.

I love to stitch and sew,

I like knitting too.

Don't forget crochet

And a little rhyme.

We need another verse

But I can't make time!
