Oh, Flip...

There's been a blip,
I took a trip,
And broke my hip!

I'm all screwed back together now so
I'm (carefully) putting on my positive pants and shouting

I took a cup of kindness and loads of new toys from the NHS
so thank you so much Queen Alexander.

Can you see my cup of kindness in the photo?

Normal service will be resumed soon but in the mean time
I would like to wish all my bloggy chums...

In 2014 I'm looking forward to learning some new
Womble skills, ie making good use of the things that I find

and using my thinking cap a bit more often.

What are you looking forward to?

Crafty ways mend bones.

EE xx

  1. Eco Ethel.......goodness how was your trip??
you poor darling...Can you walk? will they give you a knew hip soon?...or are you already 'Hip' enough?
Seriously time for a slow down...take it easy etc etc....bestest healing thoughts and wishes coming your way..

    1. Just tripped up a teeny step in a dark alcohol involved :( and no new hip as mine's good so long as the screws work, will be hopping around until Feb so I may need to jazz up my crutches! xx

  2. Oh dear that is really pants!! Do take some Symphytum (comfrey / knitbone)... homeopathy or infused herb tea.. tis very good...
Yep your new toys could do with some colour!
    Sending love and hugs Cx

    1. Thanks Cass...I like the sound of that knitbone, shall investigate. xx

  3. Oh my goodness, you poor thing. I hope you make sure you rest up and you'll be back on your feet in no time at all. Wishing you a better 2014 X

  4. Good grief dear E.E. how awful for you!! At least you get to become bionic now with your newly screwed together hip. Several years ago (at this time of year) I fell & broke my neck & I must admit that whilst spending 5 days in hospital flat on my back staring at the ceiling . . . it was only the thoughts of my patterns & crafty pursuits running through my head that kept me sane. I wish you gentle crafty ways while you mend my friend x0x

  5. Dear Ethel, what a thing to happen! Hope you've got someone nice to take care of you.Kind Regards Pam.

  6. Oh no! What bad luck Ethel. I was only thinking about you the other day and wondering why we hadn't heard from you over the festive season. Love your new toys! The NHS is so generous. Keep eating the chocolate and get better soon. Jacqui xx

  7. Oh! Dear! Oh! Dear!
Looks as though ALL the hip jokes have been done....!
Though...If learn to jump up and down on one leg......
You could get into a bit of Hip-Hop....ooooops!

Seriously though...Get some chocolate down ya!
It's true it's good for ya.....!
I'll drink an extra glass of wine for you, this lunch
    Be Good....Take Care....Think Pink.....!!! :>)x

  8. OH NO! poor old you. Wishing you a speedy recovery and mobility.
Chocolate does help! Well, it helped when I spent a christmas in plaster with a broken ankle about 5 years ago!

  9. Oh my goodness, take good care of yourself and take your time recovering so that your hip heals well. Loving the womble idea, so eco ethel

  10. would recommend the same as Greenorchid, if recommendations were in order. . .I feel some crutch bunting is needed, (for you walking friends- if you'll pardon the phrase!)

  11. ooo no honey! ouch and plop!!!! wishing you a wonderful, trip free, pain free and splendid new year xxxx

  12. That's terrible! belated wishes to hope you are at least hobbling around now. Hoping this year will be a big new start for you. xx
